Rain. I found this image at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/garnite/57528158/. It really captures riding in Sacramento lately. OK, maybe the clouds here are not quite as menacing as in the picture. But we've had thunder. And hail. This very day even! And, I was told, we were hailed upon during the Cinderella. Apparently I didn't notice as I was wrapped up in how wet and cold and wind sheared I was. So it has been a long wet March... I'm happy about the rain levels and giddy for all the snow boarders up a few thousand feet, but I'M TIRED OF IT! Sigh... All this rain prompted me to ride yesterday in pure, 100%, full on rain for and hour or so after work. I was soaked, completely. I felt bad-ass. I really did. But then today my bike shoes were still seriously wet and cold. What to do? I decided to swap out my pedals! I visited River Rat Cyclery in Fair Oaks and purchased a $14.00 15MM Parks P5 Pedal Wrench! I scurried home and swapped my clipless pedals for standard pedals so that I COULD RIDE TODAY in dry sneakers. Rain schmain!
