Tuesday Janice and I went to see "Carmen" performed by the Sacramento Opera. We both enjoyed it. I honestly thought Todd Geer was a bit too portly for the part of Don José, but his voice was awesome. The three dancers that they borrowed from the Sacramento Ballet were really beautiful. We look forward to see what is coming up in the Fall. See the Sacramento Bee Arts Critic Review of Carmen.
I am looking forward to the March 7, 2007 release of "Neon Bible" by Arcade Fire. I especially like the song "Intervention" which I saw them play on SNL last Saturday.
The name of my blog, Trudging Slowly is from the Morrissey song "Everyday is like Sunday" from his solo album Bona Drag. It also accurately describes my pace in just about any activity involving forward motion. Both are achingly lovely and depressing and bring me great joy.
